Cynthia Hollif Literature & Writing Classes
High School English Teacher
Master of Arts in Teaching • Former Public School English Teacher • Experienced Online EducatorAs a certified English teacher, I specialize in engaging, discussion-based literature and writing classes that help students think critically, write confidently, and genuinely enjoy learning.

Literature & Analysis
In my literature classes, students read a mix of classic and modern texts, including short stories, plays, and novels. We focus on close reading, thoughtful discussion, and developing a deeper understanding of themes, characters, and author’s craft.
Writing and Composition
Students engage in both informal writing practice and formal academic composition throughout the year. From journals and discussion responses to literary analysis and argumentative essays, writing instruction focuses on helping students develop strong communication and analytical skills in a supportive environment.

Discussion & Critical Thinking
Classes are discussion-centered and designed to help students think deeply about literature, writing, and ideas. Students learn to support their opinions with evidence, ask thoughtful questions, and engage respectfully with differing perspectives.
Why Families Choose My Classes
Students benefit from small class sizes and a discussion-based learning environment where participation and critical thinking are encouraged. Classes are taught by an experienced teacher and are designed to be rigorous while still supportive and approachable. The program is also well-suited for homeschool families looking for flexible, engaging, and high-quality instruction.
